A Weekenders Guide To Cornwall
So, first things first, Cornwall f***ing is amazing! I took my girlfriend there a few weeks ago for her birthday, a little romantic getaway I guess and it was way way cooler than expected. Being from South Africa I’ve always thought that the U.K was just a big soggy island with a few nice countryside spots outside of London. And to my amazement, I was proven very wrong!!
We took a night flight to Newquay airport on a Friday evening which was a “painful” 40 minutes with absolutely no expectations and next to no research other than the picturesque cabin I booked through Unique home stays (which was amazing!!). If you haven’t used unique home stays before take a look ASAP!!Nevertheless, once we managed to find our cabin in the middle of the woods/fields we lit a fire and cuddled up expecting a very relaxing weekend in the country. What we were treated to was beyond anything I had imagined could possibly exist in the U.K.!!
Getting around and what to see
We hired a car from the airport and went driving to find the amazing Coastline that lines this beautiful area. The number of surfers shredding delicious looking waves in their wetsuits was overwhelming, to say the least! Hell, If it wasn’t so cold I would have joined them! However, this really is a prime coastal destination to hit up if you’re looking for a getaway in the U.K.
Where to eat
We were treated at Jamie Oliver’s 15 Cornwall and also got our mimosa and munch on at the epic Watergate Bay hotel. Plus there were a ton of other options to hit up if we had more time which you will find in the Listings on the website!
Best time to go is obviously closer to the summer! But its still dope and beautiful as hell in Winter! So get booking and get going people!! Definitely worth it!!
Stay Trusty Folks!!
Peace & love as always!
