Established in 1890, Gordon’s is London’s oldest wine bar, an ever-popular staple of the London wine scene.
Gordon’s is loved by the young and old alike, all drawn to its unique atmosphere and ageless charm.
With an extensive wine list ranging from the affordable to the surprisingly still affordable, especially for London, this is a spot not to be missed for all the connoisseurs out there. Their carefully-selected menu offers a great variety; from your classic reds and whites through to the high-market champagnes and English Sparklings. There are even vegan wines for those more conscientious drinkers, while sherries and ports are served from the barrel for the real authentic experience.
The outdoor terrace is a great spot for a bit of people watching in the sun. Or, if you want the real old-school feel, head down to the dark, candlelit cave-like cellar for a more cozy and intimate environment.
Be warned though, this is a very popular bar, so finding a table in the cellar may prove difficult if you’re there during peak hours hoping for some food. That said, it’s worth the wait, particularly for the great selection of cheeses – these people really know their stuff! There’s also the option for some grilled food out on the terrace, not to be missed!
Groups of 8-12 can book the small cage area at the back to guarantee a place here.
Vibe: One of the most atmospheric spots in London!
