Check out this Rio food market for the best local produce!
Junta Local creates a community for local fairtrade food producers to get together and sell their wares. Expect to find a whole range of delicious local bakes, grills, roasts, drinks and a whole load more. This is the place for local Brazilian produce, and if the event is on while you’re in Rio, it is not to be missed!
Junta Local isn’t a permanent setup in Rio, but instead is run as and when producers are available and stocked up! Check ahead of time for upcoming events if you are visiting Rio, and try to organise your day so you can check this place out. The event usually takes place over a weekend once a month, but times do vary.
The stalls offer everything from organic vegetables, sauces and juices, to beers, brownies, and quiche. There’s a real community atmosphere here, with live music, entertainment and an all-round feel-good vibe.
